I’ve wanted to write a blog for a long time now , the first time maybe was 2 1/2 years ago when I was sick and went through a subsequent reasonably epic weight loss , then last year when I took up triathlon – but nothing much ever came out of it other than a couple of ranty unpublished drafts or one liners not worth the bandwidth. Now that I’m training for an Ironman I’m getting enough how and why questions that I should be able to at least write one decent post a week.
I had wanted to get at least one post in January but time passed so quickly that I actually avoided posting until now so that I wouldnt treat this as a resolution, but instead what I want it to be , a diary of how I get things done as a husband , a dad of 2 , a reasonably busy IT guy and a novice triathlete – and hopefully answering some of those questions that people inevitably ask you one you get to the nitty gritty of Ironman training and the distances involved.
I’m quite lucky in the fact that I know a lot of good people who I’ve taken inspiration and motivation from (not least of all the person that I married) I hope I can give shout outs to them where I can as I document my journey this year.
As for new years resolutions, mine is to get the bins out on time – I struggle with them every bloody week and im sure if I can organise myself enough to sort this out , then everything else will fall into place , kind of like Ford Prefect and his towel.
